Shirdi Sai Baba was born in 1838 (around this year, not sure of the exact year) in a village called Pathri in the present-day state of Maharashtra, India. His birth name was unknown, and Mhalsapati of Shirdi village named him after Sai, and later, he was called Sai baba, and he was known by the names Shirdi Sai Baba and Sai of Shirdi. Sai Baba's early life is shrouded in mystery. Some accounts say he was orphaned young, while others claim he ran away from home to live as a wandering ascetic. What is known for sure is that he eventually made his way to the town of Shirdi, where he spent the rest of his life. Sai Baba was known for his miracles and wisdom, and he quickly gained a large following of devotees. He preached love and tolerance for all, regardless of religion or caste. He also advocated selfless service to others, and many of his followers opened hospitals, schools, and orphanages in his name. Sai Baba passed away in 1918, but his legacy continues to live on through his followers. His teachings have inspired millions of people worldwide, and there are now numerous temples and shrines dedicated to him in India and other countries.
